Gallery Unfoldでの展示中、一緒に展示している陳 奕彣さんと黄 冠傑さんは京都に来ることなく搬入を終えていて、現在は台中で過ごしているという。 そんな2人に向けて、展示空間の持ち主である黃慕薇さんから「あなたがどこにいるのかわからないので、手を振ってもらえませんか。」と伝えてもらった。 私は2人の名前を知っているだけで、それ以外のことはほとんど知らない。台中にもまだ行ったことがない。 2人の姿や過ごしている風景が全く想像できないまま台中に向かって手を振り返した。 展示の会期は終了したが、2人と手を振り合うことができたのか、これからするのか、しないのか、今振っているのか、わからない。

During the exhibition at Gallery Unfold, Chen Yi-Wen and Guanjie Huang, who are exhibiting alongside me, completed the installation without coming to Kyoto and are currently staying in Taichung. Huang Mowei, the owner of the exhibition space, told them on my behalf, “Since I don't know where you are, could you wave to me?” I only know their names; I know almost nothing else about them. I've never even been to Taichung. Without any image of their faces or the scenery around them, I waved back toward Taichung. The exhibition period has ended, but I don't know if I managed to wave back and forth with them, if they will do it from now on, if they won't, or if they are waving right now.
